Silliman Band in Concert
The Silliman University band held a two-night concert performance at the MSU-IIT last December 14 and 15, 1998. Composed of musically-inclined students from the Visayas’ premiere university, the 65-member band enthralled the IIT audiences with their march, light classics and movie theme repertoire.
Conducting the band was Prof. Joseph Basa. They visited Iligan as part of their Mindanao tour. The Department of English in coordination with the Iligan-based Silliman University Alumni sponsored the Iligan production.
Madrigal Singers perform in Iligan
The internationally acclaimed Philippine Madrigals presents a concert January 31, 7:00 p.m. at the MSU-IIT gym. Conducting will be eminent Gawad CCP awardee Prof. Andrea Veneracion, founder of this world-class choir that has represented and won prestigious prizes for the country in many occiasions.
The Madrigals will hold a voice workshop in the morning of January 31
at the Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital. Sponsoring this concert is the
Iligan Medical Society in coordination with the Cultural Center of the
Philippines.
